Our past is as important as our future.

About

The Sparkive was born out of frustration. It doesn’t take much research to learn that electrical standards in the United States were born in the late 1800s, but these standards are not easy to find, read, and enjoy. The oldest code books are scooped up by collectors for hundreds (or thousands) of dollars, and the books that have been scanned so far have been done with varying levels of care, and simply aren’t accessible.

Our goal is to restore scans of these public domain documents and provide them, for free, to all.

If you’d like to support the work of this project, please consider donating to help with expenses here: Buy Me A Coffee

If you have access to an old or rare code book that isn’t yet listed here and would like to allow it to be scanned, please reach out to contact@thesparkive.org. You can also vote on what books we restore next right here!
